The Biggest Vehicle Advertising Mistakes

 

When it comes to an advertising vehicle wrap; some graphics companies do not know the “DO NOTS” of business graphic design.  When you have decided that it is time to promote your business with a vehicle wrap; it is very important to know what you are investing your money in.  You want to make sure that you pick a company that cares about your business; and isn’t just going to milk you for money.  A good thing to do before you make any decisions about where to have your vehicle wrapped; is to actually go visit the places you are prospecting.  If the building is just a showroom, and the install is done at a completely different location… Chances are you are going to run into an issue later on.  It is Important to pick a company that does all of the process in- house.  This helps quality control, and prevents confusion.  Once you have found a company you are comfortable with, ask to speak to a designer/See a portfolio.  If in their portfolio they show signs of any of the below “DO NOTS”: run away; fast.

1. Color Issues:  If the designer has no taste for color… then the obvious answer is; no thank you.  There are basic design rules every design student is taught in school.  When you are in a business; most of the time you already have your colors/ brand figured out.  You will want a designer who can help you stick to your brand, but still stand out. 
2. They can’t sell their own work:  If you ask the designer: “Why should I have my vehicle wrapped with you?” and they stumble over the answer; they obviously can’t market themselves.  Why would you trust someone to help you market your brand, if they can’t sell their own?
3. All of their work is busy:  If all of their designs look cluttered and hard to understand, you need to try to find another company.  You want a company that can help you make your message clear; after all… a clear message means memorability. 

Talk with the designer about all of these issues, and I bet you will love the outcome of the wrap.  Never settle for anything less than greatness when it comes to your business.
