Insourcing vs. Outsourcing
This subject is highly debated amongst some of the best in business. While this is usually something that is considered a decision that only big businesses have to make, I prefer to break it down and see it on a smaller scale. I believe that every company has to deal with the decision rather to outsource certain parts of their products, or if they choose to insource with their own employees and supplies. While I realize that it is theoretically impossible for a business to completely insource every single aspect of their product, (materials have to come from somewhere) some businesses choose to outsource more than necessary. In particular I want to break this down to the business of vehicle wrapping.
When you walk into some vehicle wrap companies, the first thing you will see is a huge countertop, with a number of salesmen standing behind it. It is easy to get caught up and sold on a vehicle wrap just by the very fact that they seem to know what they are talking about. Many forget that they are trained to do just that. Sell to you. That is their main goal, to sell you on a wrap the very day you walk in. Some of the time, the only way you can see the work of the company is through pictures or on a website. While those are a great place to start, wouldn’t you rather see a vehicle wrap done by that person, up close and personal? The reason you aren’t able to see an actual wrap there at their shop, is because they don’t actually do the wrap there! Now more than ever, companies are outsourcing their work to other outside companies, because it is cheaper and easier for them, rather than putting their own time and effort into it. I have seen some companies that outsource everything. They send the art to a free-lancer, the print to a large format print company, and they hire a contractor to wrap the vehicle.
Here at Paradise Graphix, we insource as much as we can. We do this so that we can control the quality of the products that we send out. This also is what helps us make our wraps more cost efficient than other companies. We do all of our artwork, printing, and installing in house. That means that if you want to come out and see before you buy, there will always be a vehicle wrap here for you to look at. Need a sample? We always have those on hand.
Don’t get caught up in the salesmen and the expensive prices, and think that the more you pay, the higher the quality. We want to deal with you on a more personal level. It is our job to keep you informed and let you be a part of every aspect of your vehicle wrap from Art to Install. Shop around before you make hasty decisions, and let us be your favorite choice.
