Troll Beads

   Looking for something special to give to the women in your life for the holidays? Troll beads are a great and beautiful gift which helps preserve memories.  Now I know Troll Beads are definitely popular among women, most all of the women I talk to either own a troll bead bracelet or something equivalent; but I bet some men have absolutely no idea what I’m talking about… or they think I am making some crazy Charlie Sheen reference.   As great as Charlie Sheen is; that is not the case.

   Troll beads originated in Denmark in 1976.  The name refers to the first beads designed by Søren Nielsen, which resemble Troll faces.  They originated as beads to be put on leather bracelets.  While that is still a popular way to wear these beads, they are also worn on bracelets with clasps now. 

    Other companies have created collections similar to that of the Troll beads; Charmed Memories is one of my personal favorites.  The Charmed Memories bracelet beads were created to relate to people and their everyday accomplishments.  Today the Troll Bead and other bead creator’s collections includes jewelry made in silver, 18-carat gold, pearls, precious and semi-precious stones, and glass.
