One of Paradise Graphix's policies is that we require a 50 percent deposit on your work before we do it. This policy has raised some questions with our clients in the past. Mostly this happens because the client has worked with a company that does not require any payment before any work is done. This policy differs between companies because of a few different reasons.
Artwork is considered a service; and services are paid for. If you ask a company to design a website for you; I can guarantee that any design firm that puts out high quality work will require a down payment deposit before they begin work for you. By taking half down on your job before we begin it; you have your artwork covered; as well as what it will cost for us to purchase the necessary materials for the job. Many companies worry that if they put down the money on the job; that they may not like the artwork provided. Our designs are not set in stone; and it would take a customer completely changing their mind 2-3 times before we would ever charge extra for artwork. We work with our clients berfore we begin our designing to get a good idea of what the client is looking for. We then take their ideas and give them a proof that they can examine. If they want changes made; we can do them!
I can guarantee that a company that doesn't require an artwork deposit either doesn't have enough work to keep themselves afloat or; they don't put very much time into their designs. Most of the time with a company that doesnt take a deposit; you end up with clip-art logos pieced together on low quality back-ground images.
In the case of Paradise Graphix; artwork can be so in-depth to the point where the design will be hand-drawn before it is ever even put into the computer. You don't get detail like that from a company that does work without payment. Like I always say.... quality work is never free!
